Just finished several identical units. I was not involved the spec'ing of the vehicles and they only came with the basic police prep wiring from Ford. Hopefully, corner strobes, LED and or Mirror Beams will be added. Would also like to go with 500 series linear over the TIR3 next time.

Will have 08 Tahoe pics to post soon.

CV's either got all Whelen Liberty with HFSA6 or Sound Off ETL5000 with matching controllers, otherwise cars are identical.

I'll add pics of the cars with the Liberty bars when I get a chance.

I must say I am pretty impressed with the light output of the ETL5000 although the time to set the patterns, modes and final wiring was extremely long and tedious due the design of the serial interface module.

Sentina prisoner paritions with recessed dual weapon mounts (not yet installed in these pics)

Setina PB400

Whelen TIR3 back deck and pushbar, RED/BLUE

Whelen plugnplay HLF and TLF

Lund consoles (NOT MY CHOICE!)

Astro Spectra, VHF

Vehicle will have radar, cellular / gps antennas added later once the vehicles go their respective assigments.

This specific car (mine) will have a same direction moving mode Decauter Genesis Select KA band radar installed once its delivered, oh and stripes too Smile

The Lund consoles you don't like are mounted backwards. They are designed to have a computer mount on the flat front part.

I'll post a vid when the car is striped.

I should explain why the console is installed like that.

Dual vertical long gun mounts with a recessed panel off the partition forced the console to be mounted further forward to allow for room to remove the 870 and M16. M14 are also used and are quite a bit bigger so that head to be dealt with as well.

Also, again not my choice, but it was requested to have the radio and siren controller mounted far forward on the dash for short officers.

Since I couldn't go back and re-order sloped consoles like Jotto Desk to do that, I was stuck with what I had and came up with a solution.

Also had trouble with getting the right brackets from Lund for the sound-off equiped cars.

Nice? Who is getting them?

Why did they opt for the Street Appearance Package (SAP) CVPI?

I was in Jackson Wyoming for a work detail last year and we went to Yelowstone on some downtime. It's about time NPS got some new cars, I saw a 94 NPS Crown Vic still in service last year! Then in the Grand Tetons I saw a 96 or 97!

Indeed there are some old cars in the park since many of the vic and caprices from the 94-97 time period had complete drivetrain and engine rebuilds.

Also doesn't help our vehicles are DOI owned I plated meaning they pretty much end up being around for forever, about 7-8 years is typical here which is frankly way to long for law enforcement vehicles.

We should be and are supposed to be on GSA lease for LE vehicles, but the fleet is so big here the capitol outlay is enormous to do it.

Most parks are on GSA so LE vehicles are changed out in 3 years.

I can take pics of the older cars I'm trying to fix, what a nightmare. All levels and quality or lack there of in the vehicles here... very frustrating!

no idea on street appearance package as I didn't order the cars. Not fond of the black interiors either, HOT!

Here's a shot of the 97 I shot when I was there. It was just sitting on the side of the road for several hours without a Ranger. Either it broke down or they left it there to try and cut down on speeders!

Nice but I agree the Street App. Package looks bad , atleast for marked police cars.

Is there any way that lightbar can be set lower to the car looks like it sits up to high.

Other than that looks good!

That's a Grand Teton car as they purchase vision bars for that time period. Yellowstone cars of that age would have a 48 inch 4 strobe 4 halogen edge bar.

I can't lower the bar as it has the standard height CV brackets. We've discussed getting the adujustable brackets, but so far everyone seems ok with it.

Yup, the Tetons are where I took that picture! I'll be back up there for another detail starting August 20th. I love it up there, so gorgeous!

My question was going to be why are they using CVPI and not a P74? They have always used P74 Crown Victoria LX in the past, or at least US Customs did/does.

I like the setup (not the lightbar though) and really do like that sound off switch box. Good job.

They P74 package is no longer sold. The only CV is either the taxi or PI packages.

I'm guessing the P74s you saw are just an oddity. I think Customs/BP used to order vehicles by district, and now are ordered nationally through GSA.

The P74 LX is still available as of 2009 model year, the LX Sport is not. It is simple sold as a fleet vehicle now and not to the general public (technically). Also the P73 is no longer available as of 2009, only the P74 base model or LX.

All of the US Customs Crown Victories in my area are P74 LX models. I have never seen one that is not, that just happens to be the only picture of one I have.

I like LUND Consoles, and even have one sitting in my storage, they are also very very friendly when I called to place my order for faceplates a while ago... I had the BCT8 scanner when they first came out and they do not make a face plate for it. The guy took the model number, looked up the size and made sure that I got something that would make it fit. Worked great.

LUND has been good about trading brackets since we got the wrong ones shipped the 1st time.

Given that we have vertical rifle/shotgun mounts on the cage we should have ordered a sloped console instead of horizontal, but again late in the game its too hard to change what we ordered.

I'm about half-way done on another identical car, although the higher ups asked that the lightbar be mounted 3 inches further forward (sound off says centered on b-pillar) Not sure why this is such a big deal, no matter what you do the bar will light you up when you get out of the car.

We have purchased those base Crow Victorias in the past because they were the cheapest with the stripped down Whelen 9004's, I believe, 6 strobes all together including the corners....this is what we have now CVPI's

Well now that the CBPOs are getting trained for pursuit driving, maybe they'll spec out P71s or Chargers. Who knows, maybe you'll have to trade in that Explorer for a Magnum Very Happy
