i am going to install some lights on both sides of the rearview mirror mounted to the headliner. which would be better for that application. axixtech hyperion 6 or 2 whelen sync avengers.

Never seen the axixtech hyperion 6. But i prefer axixtech Over whelen. I feel Whelen is over priced on a lot of there items

I personally would stick with Whelen for several reasons. #1, customer service and warranty work. You buy Axis....you WILL need warranty. Not saying you won't with Whelen...but with W...it will get turned around and done correctly. Just remember...you get what you pay for.....always!!

The Hyperion is something made of Axixtech products by ERM. They are available through ERM dealers as well as Tac2Supply.

Go with the hyperion. it's cheaper than the two whelen and may be a better product. The avenger is still new and will propably have some issues.

I'd go with two of the new Whelen Spitfires. They're inexpensive, offer Whelen quality, and if you remove the lighthead from the housing via the two screws, you will reveal a sync wire that is capped off behind there. You can then set your lights to alternate or flash simultaneously and connect the grey wires.

The Hyperions are pretty cool. Looks like ERM did a good job putting them together. I like Axixtech products, none have ever pooped out that I've seen, but I've heard about it a couple of times. On the same token, that happens with Whelen...or any company! Axixtech products are slightly cheaper and they are great lights. Go with whatever you personally like more.

I wouldnt worry about warranty with either comany. Both are excellent to work with and are willing to cover alot of problems most companies wouldnt. ERM is also great at standing behind there products. I say Hyperion but thats just because I dont like the Avenger series. I love the Talon but something just isnt right with the Avengers to me.

Ever since a few folks have had a few bad LX4s. Also, one dealer said he has had a 12% failure rate.

I've had positive experiences, though.

The way I look at when the folks behind the Whelen name start posting here and develop a sensible international distribution plan I'll startr buying more of their product. Until then Axixtech will be a big part of my product range and no I haven't had any failures of any LED heads since I stopped using TIR3s and started using LX4s. Now if only my ex boss would let me photograph the LX4s on the AUSLAV.......

All I can say is maybe you should change your Axixtech supplier then.... cos it sounds like you are getting a crap service ! We have sold well over 300 LX3's and had two back with water in them, the two new ones went out the same day to the customer....
