|
|
I now have two of these lights in my collection, but I can't find any info on them.
This one seemed to have a 6 volt bulb until I put 12 volts to it The original bulb was a GE 1183 which I have found out is 6 volts. My other light works fine on 12 volts, I can't get into it to see what bulb is in it, I don't want to risk breaking the glass globe to get a look at it.
My questions are:
Can I put a 12 volt bulb in this without any worry of overheating it? This will just be powered on occasionally. An 1156 bulb fits fine.
And, anyone have any other info on these lights?
Thanks!

| If there is a flasher in the base, it will need to be changed to a 12v model as well. If there is no flasher, I don't think there is any harm in swapping the 6v bulb with a 12v bulb. |

| As long as you stay away from halogen bulbs, overheating shouldn't be a problem... |

I'll be using just an 1156 bulb in it, no halogens. Thanks again for the info.
Does anyone know who made these, the era they were used, any other info?
Thanks! |
