|
|
Hello,
I am looking to purchase a very small, telescoping halogen rotator (that packs a punch) for my new motorcycle.
Similar to as seen here:
http://www.emergencyequipmentshop.co.uk/motorcycle-telescopic-strobe-light-federal-signal-c0220-p-160.html
This, however is in the UK and goes for 200 something dollars...
Does anyone know how i could purchase a similar light in the states, or how i could purchase Fed Sig Vama products in the states.
(dont want to have to deal with the pound or euro, too expencive)
Thanks as always |

Some Vama products never make their way to the US... and I believe this motorcycle pole light in one of them.... just as some of the Federal stuff 'made in USA' doesn't get sold here in Europe...
If you don't want to deal with the pound or euro, try looking in Russia |

actually, this product line is very common on BMW bikes that are also used in the US and that includes the use of this strobe pole and front strobe heads.
check: http://jeff.dean.home.att.net/rt-p.htm
I don't think the halogen version is used often, if at all, in the USA.
The UK Halogen price(~€110,-($152)) isn't half bad... it's ~€75 lower then the Vama Price list '08
With shipping taken into consideration I doubt the US will be much cheaper.
For example: USA shop Squadfitters > http://www.squadfitters.com/catalog/strobe-lights-strobe-systems/pole-lights/co220-pole-light
(Strobe price: $152.25 excl shipping and customs etc)
I have a used strobe version pole blue if your interested. (also have the front strobe heads (CD200)) |

very common.... not sure 'common' is the right word to use... very few BMW's are used in the USA.... a handfull compared this side of the pond.... on BMW's they would be 'common' anyway since Vama was chosen to be the factory fitted spec lighting system.
For a long time now halogen masts are not used (and were very little used to start with ) now due to the power draw problem on bike, even though the bikes have uprated batteries and alternators....
If you want a cheaper mast, try VisionAlert !

I didn't say the BMW's are commonly used in the USA but never mind. You pretty much write the same as I did.

| There is a cheaper way around it. Buy yourself a beacon that has the pole mount fitting on the bottom. Then just buy a pole which im sure you can pick up cheap from any good hardware shop. Should be able to do it for less than €100. |
