Hey guys,

I have a Patriot bar with Corner strobes, Inner LEDs, alleys, and takedowns. The Bar is capable of Arrow functions left and right and maybe center out (Did not try that). Alleys and Take downs can flash if desired (don't plan to use).

Anyway, I want to get a controller w/o siren that will allow me to controll as many combinations as possible. Example I only want front corners, Only want rear corners, All Corners on, Flashers only, Front flash only, rear flashers only, All Strobe/flashers on, arrrow controll, etc.... Basically want to be able to control most of these options independantly if possible. Is there a controller with that level of customization? Would even be nice to have remote head if possible. I do prefer one that is programable oover manual switching. I was thinking CenCom and Federal Smart, but I think they both have siren features which I have no need for. I do plan to have the Whelen Horn modul, so maybe the Cencom fits my needs? Can all the siren features be disabled and those buttons be used for lighting options?

Any insight would be great.

Thanks,

Shawnusa

Part of it is how you wire it.

This one should be good enough and work well with what you have:

That is a jump-off point. I am sure many more people will give you suggestions

Yes with the CenCom you can disable everything, and since you want remote, that may be a better option. You can get it with out traffic advisor control because you won't need it, and you just don't program any of the buttons to siren sounds, except for air horn, which you would not even need.

Thanks for the link. I was contemplating that unit. I'm leaning in the direction of the Cencom w/o traffic module. Though reading though the Cencom manual I'm unable to grasp whether the buttons typically assigned to Siren options are re-progrmable to light controls. I know I can disable those functions, but can they be re-assinged? I would deffinetly utilize the Horn.

I guess I'm also a little confused as to what the slide switch does. Any laymans explinations.

Thanks again,

I'd go with the Federal Signal SS2000-SM, I'm assuming you're installing this by yourself and the Cencom is really complicated and would take some more 12v know-how. The SmartSiren is pretty easy to wire and you'll be able to control everything you need to with it.

I'm going to agree... I'm not sure if the patriot has a 2 wire Traffic Advisor (+12v Left, +12v Right, +12v both center out), but if it does, the SS2000-SM will be perfect. They're found for around $200-$300 on the Sale Board, and are programmable. If+When you wear off the newbie feeling, you can ALWAYS upgrade to a Cencom, and the SS-2000SM will likely hold it's value.

The patriot does have a two wire TA.
