One of the reserves on my department was riding with me today and mentioned someone had given him some old lights and asked if I wanted them. I ended up with some off-brand wig-wag dated 1974, NIB, a pair of Blazer red/blue fog lamp type flashers, with the gel inserts, and the best thing, a genuine Federal Fireball.
I was wondering, do these old Fireball tear drops have any kind of value? I hadn't seen one in quite a while. Anyway, a cool light. It's stuck to the side of my toolbox now. |

Collectible items should NOT be on the side of a tool box. It should be on a book shelf or similar. It will broke sooner or later.
The Federal FireBall start to be uncommon but it is still around, depending of version. |

Well, is it ACTUALLY collectable? That's what I'm trying to acertain.
I'm getting quite a little collection. I am going to build a shelf to organize them in the garage. I am hoping to keep trippin over some of this stuff |

I sell good condition Fireballs for $25. They are quite common.

| I've said it before. The original Fireball is the ****! So simple, so bright, so effective. |

| A citizen donated a box of old police equipment to my agency. I noticed a new, never used Fireball in the box. It was the original style with the brass gear, had the dash mounting plate and flash shield also. It will never see service in this day and age and wil probably sit on a shelf until it gets \"misplaced\" or auctioned off. |

Yeah, what a cool little light. I can't believe how good a shape the lens is in.
Patrol, maybe you need it for your car, and it somehow ends up staying in the box in the trunk? |

I did convince the mechanic to give me the fabric flash shield, as he figured it wouldn't be missed. I've already got a few fireballs, it's just that this one has never seen service. It's the old style motor with lots of RF. I've already got one like it, and can't use it, given the amount of radio noise it makes. |
