Has anyone seen or used one of these? If so what did you think? The application needed would be amber for a stationary vehicle. Also if there are any dealers out there I would like a price on 3 of them with the magnetic mounts.

Thanks, Charlie

Daytime use in sunlight = complete crap

As long as it's not in direct sunlight, it's ok. Just keep in mind it's the lowest generation of LED lighting available. I actually saw one tonight on a snow plow while it was pretty crappy visibility out, and it did better than i thought it would have. I'd say for stationary use, go for it.

Sirennet has a video of the unit on their web site. Check out http://www.sirennet.com/flash/lowpro.swf for it.

dejavu time- I posted about this setup within the last week. And I agree with the day=junk statement. Nothing attracted me to look at the truck to see amber flashes coming from it. I was more drawn to the other construction vehicles with FS highlighters or single flash strobe beacons.

They are only bright as demo's indoors looking straight into them at eye level. Once you get them on a truck, you're not eye level and there goes any intensity.

For what these things sell for new, the price totally overpowers performance. You're better off with a used Code 3 420 or Whelen Guardian. I've had both at points in time and they were both incredibly bright, very impressive. Whelen Guardian is sold new for $74.95, IIRC.

Colonel;
You make a very valid point as to the directional nature of generation 1 LEDs, such as this bar. My only concern then would be current draw, as he says that the bar would be used on a stationary vehicle (he didn't say if the vehicle would be running or not).

If possible, price wise, what about something like a LFL Liberty mini-bar?

Thanks for the objective opinions! My friend owns a major security company with numerous (roving) patrols.....shopping centers ect. and was wanting something that could run for long periods. Thought these might be a good solution with the low current draw, but I wanted some honest reviews first.

Other than the standard Whelen, Code3 halogens what would you guys go with under the $200.00 range? These will be used on Ford Rangers.

Thanks
