I was browsing the net for light bar parts, found out about the problems with EP911 LED bars, then found this site and thought it'd be a great place to exchange information about public safety lighting and installations.
Some information on me:
I am not a part of any public safety occupations (though it is a very interesting career that offers something new and different everyday). My main occupation is a Motorola radio service tech. I got involved in this career about a year and a half ago after graduating college. My primary role is servicing all Motorola radios, but I have many other roles as well, including reparing other brand radios, installing equipment for public safety vehicles, and servicing/maintaining/replacing any other equipment that is involved in public safety and city/county services.
What I come across can be random. Sometimes its a normal install for a vehicle, other times it can be setting up a generator system for the sheriffs department, and has even come down to repairing a waste water sampler for the county waste-water treatment department.
I'm still young (22) and fairly new to all of the public safety workings (before my job I had no clue as to how a police vehicle was setup).
My main area of emphasis in general is electronics. I have been involved in it since age of 5. My main applied use of electronics is with vehicles. It doesn't matter what system or device it is, vehicle electronics is my favorite area.
I am a perfectionist, and I absolutly hate poor or half done wiring jobs, and my main goal on any vehicle install is to have it done neatly, properly, and reliably. The people I do installs for depend on things working right, all the time, and mistakes can be costly. I strive to have everything right.
The only fallback is that no electronic device lasts forever, and will fail at one point or time. That I can't prevent, but I can prevent equipment not working right from poor wiring, and vehicle fires caused by under-rated wiring for the application.
So thats a bit about me, and I hope to be a useful source of information in reguards to electronics.
Thanks. |
