|
|
| Does anyone know if the 2006 Ford Expedition SSV (special service vehicle) comes standard with the side mirrors with lights on them? Only curious because I am wondering if this is the case, when a emergency lighting company might start making strobes or LEDs that would go in the housing. Not sure how effective it would be though. |

Are you asking if they come with emergency lights on the mirrors; or turn indicators.
They do not come with emergency lights on the mirrors. It may have led turn indicators.
Whelen had a Mirror Beam kit for the Expedition, but only up to 2002.
BTW, this topic should have been part of the other topic you have going about the same vehicles; not a totally seperate thread. You now have three different thread topics going; all on the same subject (the new Expeditions you are getting). |

I was unsure if this would be a seperate topic in itself,, sorry about that.. I also figured it would fall in the emergency lighting area, because the question is;
If the 2006 Expedition SSV comes stock with the amber turn signals on the side mirrors, can they be modified to flash with either an LED module or a strobe by replacing them? Just an idea I guess. |

I wouldn't bother with modifying the mirror lights, nor would I bother with putting a strobe inside there either. Who would this be warning, people under your mirrors? There's no reflection pointing towards traffic.
I don't know much about the new expeditions, but usually special service package vehicles don't include options on the exterior, whether it be puddle lights, led turn indicators, aluminum wheels, fog lights, etc. I could be wrong about that, but typically they come with power interior options, cloth or vinyl seats, a/c, steel wheels and that's pretty much it. |

| Thats why I threw the idea out there. I guess it makes sense, that the strobe wouldn't have any place to flash to, as far as direction. Thanks for the input. |
