Hey guys!
I just got off the probation period with my fire department, and am now authorized to have a courtesy light. As a \"gift\" my mentor gave me an old blue tear-shaped rotator light. I figure it should be sufficient. I honestly can't imagine needing much more.
Anyway, this may sound like a dumb question, but how exactly should I put it up there?
The power adapter in my car is on the right side of my steering wheel. Whereas, I read that the most effective place to have a single beacon like it is to put it on the left side. So the cord, will be going from the plug on my right side, across and in front of me, out the window, to the roof.
Doesn't seem very safe, or professional. Is there a more effective way of doing this?
Honestly, I'm not to good with a lot of the electric stuff, and if possible, I'd like to keep the cigarette power adapter for now. |

| When I ran a throw light, I added an extension to the cable and added a cigarette plug with a switch, so that it could remain in the socket permanently. I ran the extra long cable under the driver seat and fed it through the window, as not to block steering and seatbelt. When the light was not in use I placed the light in the pouch to the rear of the drivers seat, which was easily reachable for the driver in times of need. I'm not sure about your vehicle specifications though. |

| throw it on the roof, with the door open. Put the cord around the rear view mirror and over the sunvisor. The last time I used a magnetic light the car had a sunroof so I used to put it dead center and drop the cord thru the open sunroof. |

| A common throw light dilema. I would extend the wires and run it through the passenger door to get it out of your way. The only time you would run into problems is if you are already on the road when the tones go out. But this way it is right out of your way. |
