I don't know much about strobe power supplies.

Would this one provide 25 watts, to each tube, 50, less...

It looks ideal for me but how does it compare to the more popular 60 watts?

EDIT: Was having a little issue with the link Embarassed

THANKS!

The model CSP450 will give you 12.5 watts per head with four strobes connected; it will put out 25 watts per head if only two strobes are connected. If you are only going to need a four outlet; go with the UPS64LXA. It is a 75 watt regulated power supply and will give you a consistent 18.75 watts per head. Or go with the CSP690. If you are only going to be using two strobes; then the CSP240 will work for you.

So a strobe power supply delivers its maximum wattage divided by the number of lights/heads to each light/head?

Also, a friend of mine has a new TOMAR 4 head neobe hide-a-way system for $200. Would that be a better value than what I could get for $200 from Whelen?

Thanks!

Basically you got it...

Regulated/Unregulated: With a unregulated power supply, you receive an equal share of the power to each head connected, i.e. 4/40 PS would provide 20w per head if only 2 were connected. A regulated power supply will provide a consistent amount of power regardless of whether you have 2, 4, 6 or 8 head attached. Key in point in the Whelen CSP690. Even if you only have 2 heads connected, the 6x90 PS will only provide 22.5 w per head. Kinda nice considering anything more is generally considered too much (READ melting tail light lenses).

The Tomar PS is generally a 4x60 PS. If you like the Tomar Neobe pattern, it's a good deal. I personally like it but prefer a bit more punch than just 15 w per tube.
