OK, we have all seen the ghostbusters movie with the dingermobile, even though I loved it (yeah, up here we don't call the light freaks wackers, they are \"DINGER\") so here is the challege: does the ghostbusters siren actually exsist? can you buy it anywhere? You know, the one that sounds like someone imitating a irate baby cry! I would love to put this in my chiefs excursion, just to f with him! |

| This has come up before, I am pretty sure it was created in a sound stage/studio. |

Unfortunately, it was created on a sound stage. What we need to do is find someone that knows how to copy the sound and transfer it to a REAL siren.
Yes, I'ld like a a whelen cencom, but instead of piercer, can I get the ghostbusters tone? |

The EZ & Cheesy method:
Record 1 cycle of the sound on your computer. Transfer toptop in your car. Play in your favorite audio player, and set the player to loop. Hook up audio out from laptop to radio rebroadcast on siren.
At least that is how I have seen it done ;> |

The old topic must have been deleted, I believe Timmy started it so I'm not suprised.
I was hoping to get a link to a sound clip of the siren. |

Introducing the new \"getto blaster 1000\" it also plays your favorite tunes as you respond, so you can allways \"rock on\". |

Or you can take a portable TV/VHS combo in your vehicle, play the tape and when the siren is heard, hold the PA microphone to the TV's speaker.
It's fool proof! |

NYPD,
So you can just plug it into where the mic goes? Like on the whelen 295hfsa7 that has a removable mic? Thats a good idea! And it worked well? Do you think sound quality would be better doing it this way then say hooking it up to the radio rebroadcast?
I think I am gonna try running stuff of my laptop when I get it in there. If I had it prewired and just had to plug it in that would be easy. I am gonna have to start experimenting I guess.
Thanks for the tips!
