| Too many mix colors. I prefer solid colors when running lights rather than a multicolor blur. |

If you read optical studies, multi color is MUCH more effective in emergency lighting. Studies have shown that multiple colors provide varying levels of warning at different angles, times of day/ night, weather conditions, and peoples visual acuity... Much like different siren tones have different levels of effectiveness. |

| You can look them up online. EVOC courses, and VFIS courses cite them as well. |

i dont think theres anything wrong with the colors he has. its texas, so u can do red and blue, and amber is a good rear safety color. the only thing that i'd do differently is not have that 1 amber in front.
btw, love the mpc01 controller. i wish my ems squad got one of those for our new fly car cuz its so awkward for me (having only driven RLS b4 in vehic.s w/ turn knobs to control the siren) now having to adjust to a cencom control with multiple buttons 2 change siren tones instead of the 1 knob

Excuse my french, but 'F' the studies.... You either see a lightbar or you dont.... if you have trouble seeing a red only lightbar or whatever color, you shouldnt be driving... period.... This whole amber sees better thing maybe true, but it's total BS.... the public just needs to open their eyes and gain a little common sense.
But I have to agree with rapidjade..... too many colors..... the fact that you are allowed Red/Blue is awesome.... embrace it and go with it... However, I dont think I'd do much to your bar, I'd just change that amber part in the front to blue... The back looks fine... Assuming you have HAWs, thats cool. Maybe go for some grill lights? Ditch the LED knock offs... Otherwise, you have a sweet set-up going!

| I would deffinetely aggree the amber to the front is ackward at best. I say change it out to a more uniform look. I dont know what studies you are refering to but I can tell you I cannot imagine that that would be at all effective compared to red and blue. Amber is way to overused to get any kind of respect. On top of that I would want my vehicle to look good with out the lights, and I just dont see that looking good at all, but just my $.02 |

I agree. .. Well around here you could have more lights than the rockafeller christmas tree, and people still dont move. You could drive the Titanic with L/S and they \"wouldnt see you\". LOL
The LED's in the back we given to me in a box o stuff. Theyre rediculously bright. And as long as they work I have no intention on replacing them. I would rather spend my moola on other things. |

Looks great, and I don't mind the colors. If I recall correctly, that's very much a Houston PD type of set up - they used to have to have red, clear, blue and amber in the front and the back of their edge strobe bars back in the day.
Are you inclined at all to drill for NMO permanent mount antennas? That could really clean up the roof line and probably improve your radio performance. |

this is true. they are very bright. i personally am all for crazy colors and being different. that is what really gets traffic, as well, is the craziness. more random the better. the single amber to the front works for me. just one though. that is how i have my liberty...red, blue, clear and one amber to the front and same on the back. then pattern set to the fastest possible. before this i had an old HCSO 8 strobe bar and had the same to the front (you know the bars im talking about since some Pct 4 and SO still use em) and i liked it but wanted to upgrade to a libby and here i am i just got a 880 tonight like yours and it is fantastic. where did you get your phantom antenna? looks good up there. |

The TK880 is one of the best UHF mobiles I've had. I've run Moto Syntor9000 (which is a kick a** unit), Moto Spectra. The TK880 is a reliable, rugged, easily programmable radio.
I thought about replacing the mag mount with an NMO, but I detest drilling holes in my vehicle. I do intend on selling my truck at some point, and would rather there be as few holes in it as possible. |

I agree with those who say that the bar looks...well, awkward is the term that comes to mind. However, there's a definite advantage of a variety of colors because of where they are on the color spectrum and their intensity.
Personally, if this were my vehicle, I'd have matching colors - red on both sides, blue on both sides, and amber on both sides. Otherwise, it looks off balance to me. Just a personal preference. So long as it clears traffic for you, then more power to you. |

| I like the rear light array but to the front I would definitely stick with solid blocks of light on either side. Red/Blue with the take downs and center clear. I believe it is much more effective than haveing red and blue interspersed with each other. |

Looks great! Fort Bend SO's old Edge bars have the amber at the front, so I suppose I'm just used to the look.
Seeing quite a few HPD vehicles on the news every night does acclimate you to the eccentric arrangement, too.
Oh, and to the person who said \"F the studies...\"
Don't let the guys down in Florida hear you! |

Nah, Ill stick with the mag mount. Reception is flawless. I work in an urban environment that is heavilly repeated, never reception issues.
As far as The antenna Klein... I bought it at Houston Ametuer Radio Supply.
The colors ROCK! People who live in states that only allow solid colors are just scared. Im kidding guys.. Just a joke.
I guess they would hate to see the front of out ambos. Red, Blue, Amber, Clear, Green... It's all there. |
