A gentleman from my firehouse has an excalibur that I installed about 2 years ago. We recently ran into a problem with it. When we turn on one out of the 2 switches(does not matter which one) we get a weird humming backfeed noise in the lightbar. There is power going to the switch box, and all the connections are ok. Could there be moisture in the lightbar in the circuit or one of the connections? Is the main circuit block or relay bad? Any idea's or suggestions let me know. Thank you

Tim

First thought was that you have a bulb out. Thermal flashers like the Tridon will make an odd buzzing/screach when one side has no load.

Can you describe what's in the bar, flasher, strobes, options?

It has 5 slow speed rotators, 4 rear flashers. It can not remember if it has alleys or takedowns.

When you turn every feature on what actually comes on?

The last time I had humming/screech that didn't result from a bad feed the power lines connected to the office were surging and the sound of the surging was being played through the speakers. It was a very loud humm/screech, then it would start sounding like the world's largest relay was slapping on and off

When I turn on the two switches that control the lightbar, nothing works. Nothing works when I turn on either switch. I figured the relay took a dump, and that was the issue and that was where I was going to start.
