| I finally got around to taking my written exam, I studied everynight for two weeks prior to taking the test. Test days comes around I was so nervous, I got in there and it seemed as everything I studied had nothing to do with the test, I thought for sure I had failed.. Then tuesday I got the great information from national registry... I was Shocked, But excited to get it on my first go around.... |

| I'm not so sure I want to go any further, I don't think Missouri recognizes EMT-I. and there is alot of responsibility with the paragod.. Not sure if I want to go to the step.. its always a option.. |

The NREMT sites shows MO as recognizeing NREMT-I.
But to my point, don't let your NREMT lapse if you can. It will help a lot if you ever move. Checkout the NREMT map (orange, gray and yellow) show states that will take NREMT certs at the Basic level. You only have to do a refresher (which I bet your state would require anyway) current CPR and 48 CEs (of which you can 24 online). There are tons of website for CEs online.
(By the way if anyone is thinking about ems-ce.com, signup for the \"test drive\" wait a few days and they'll send you an E-mail for $20 off the price). |

The DOD from around here seems to take IFSAC and/or Proboard certs for Fire. Think of NR as the IFSAC for EMS. The way the federal system works (I work for the feds) is that to work EMS on federal lands you normally have to be NREMT, many places still want you to be state also.
The best way of saying it is to use the NPS, if a Ragner is NREMT-B and works in Arizona, then he goes to New Mexico (which is not a NREMT-B state, they make you take their state test for EMT-B when Arizona hands you their card for having a NR card) he could still work as an EMT for NPS on federal land because federal is above state and thats what they required of him.
(Now for those in NPS, I know the Ranger still needs an NPS white card, and the park may require state also but its the basic point I'm getting at)
I hope what I said makes some sense. and sorry for the late post I'm in Zion for training |
