I just got 2 NOS Arrow controls for the old style arrowsticks with the 8 wire cable & the ground stud on the rear... & upon hooking 1 control box up to a bar with an 8 lamp arrow, it functions as a 6 head arrowstick.

In other words, the very end lights in the arrow (on each side) don't come on at all in any pattern.
Also, when I hit the Flash button, only the 4 inner lights flash - just like they would if it were a 6 lamp arrow.

There's also a label on the bottom of the box that says 6 output & 8 output & neither box is checked.

I'm assuming I have a 6 lamp control box & thats' just the way its' going to work?

On my MX the last light on each end didn't light up. I guess it's because you can get lenses that actually have arrows on them for the ends. Not sure about the flash though I can't remember what mine did.

If i remember right, on more recent arrows, a 6 lamp will flash 4 in \"flash\" mode & an 8 lamp will flash 6.
Even with the arrow in the left or right pattern (on the box/bar I'm using now), neither end light lights up. They should as far as I know.

Funny you mention the lenses w/the painted arrow tips, I was actually going to install those in this bar...though they may look kind of weird on a 6 lamp arrow (??)
