Don't believe it is the brightest... Code 3 has been typically late out of the gate with their ideas and the thought they might actually come out with an idea that would be brighter than what exists is hard to believe.

Now where is an install video with two dual forward facing Pioneers used as warning devices?

I think Code 3 will suprise us all. They seem to be getting serious like they were when the MX came out.

I was going to use that as an example, because the vision came out right after this light bar as competition... but I could not remember if this or the street hawk was the first dual level bar (the MX did it better IMO) but I know that the idea for the 2100 was borrowed from FS's idea of taking the Vista and making the Arjent.

I submitted my e-mail address to this site last week ... I've yet to receive anything via that route.

Based on that slogan, I'm actually thinking this may be a system versus a single product, much like Whelen's B-Link and Federal's Vision. Most products are bright ... I'm thinking thath the \"be safe\" part will have something to do with easy control of light output and other components.

Now ... if this ends up being an updated MX 7000 with all PriZm lightheads, that'd be a site to behold!

One system that Code 3 does have that is an incredible system is called the Javelin. Florida Highway Patrol uses the system in which the two tier all LED lightbar works RED in the daytime, and then BLUE at night using an internal \"sensor\" that detects whether it is daylight or nighttime. When they are running \"code\" response (moving), the bar flashes both red and blue simultaneously. If you have seen this system, it is CRAZY BRIGHT! They also incorporated an all AMBER lightbar both top and bottom of the rear deck/headliner in the back window. When the Trooper is on a traffic stop or wreck, you can see the lightbar lit up at least two miles away! That is no joke. The funny thing, is that it is a relatively unknown lightbar in the Law Enforcement world. Many departments are stuck on other brands and will never go against the brand they have been loyal to for years, but the Javelin lightbar system (with integrated new Siren System (Low Frequency enhanced) is definitely worth a look at. You can also choose NOT to have the light sensor capability and just have the lightbar flash Red/Blue all the time if that is what your agency wanted. NO, I do not work for the company, I'm just a normal COP who has seen the lightbar and system IN ACTION. It is one of the best lightbar / siren COMBO systems on the market today WITHOUT A DOUBT!

Radarcop;
That system was actually developed in response to FHP's request for proposals of a system that did just what you described. FHP's specs can be viewed online at http://www.theiacp.org/div_sec_com/Committees/Less/FHPevaluation.pdf

I should have realized that when I made that observation, I should have came to the conclusion that the e-mail was going to be distributed at the end of the countdown.

It was MUCH easier to look like an idiot than to reach that conclusion. Embarassed

I'm very interested in this sensor, but cannot seem to find it as an option anywhere in the Code 3 product listings. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks,

The best I could think of is make a circuit yourself that is nothing more than a light sensor to an inverter gate, out at 12VDC so that when there is light, it is off, and when there is less light, it is on, then run that to your devices \"low power\" leads. But...

Wouldn't that not work because when you turn on your lights, even at night, the module would become ineffective... especially if your ride is loaded in terms of lights

The Street Hawk was the first 360 Dual Level Bar, followed by the Advantage, and the MX7000 (which did come out to be the best dual level)

The low freq siren isn't integrated into the Javelin. It's a separate system. It uses a car stereo amp to power a speaker. The problem is that it can only be on for 60 secs max then it has to be off for 60 secs to cool down (50% duty cycle). Otherwise the amp will burn out. Not a lot of low frequency there either. It's just a 'different' tone.

I wonder if Code3 will bring out a lightbar that doesn't actually infringe on anyone else's patent(s) this time. Hmm...

(sigh)

I like the idea of having more powerful TDs and Alleys... but frankly, haven't we hit the limit for what's really acceptable in terms of brightness?

I'm looking forward to seeing this in person, but I'm not sold on it just yet.

Well, I didn't get an e-mail, although the mysterious website was updated to reflect this new technology Code 3 is offering.

It looks like an upgraded version of the RX 2700. The new bar is called the Defender, and it appears to be modular. It definitely has different LED lightheads. I guess this \"TriCore Technology\" is Code 3's answer to the S2 modules offered by Federal Signal.

There's preliminary info given about the Defender and the TriCore Technology, but there's no detailed info that I could locate on Code 3's website.

Hopefully, someone at the show can give us a more detailed description of this product.

I did not get an email, either.

I guess now you can get a lightbar and a siren with the same name!
