|
|
I already built a 6 drawer cabinet for my 2004 Explorer with my father-in-law. He wanted to build it 47\" when I told him 46\" wide. Can someone please give me the peace of mind a get me a quick measurement of the width of the rear hatch? I am talking about the lip of it. I need to fit a 47\" wide/27\"high/24\" deep cabinet into the vehicle.
I will get these measurements for sure when I get to my g-ride at work tomorrow night. This measurement can be from a 2002-2005 Explorer.
Before someone asks...I did the measurements before I built the cabinet, I just can't remeber if it was 46.5\" or 46.5\" wide. Please let me know how far up this measurement is before it starts to curve.
Thanks fot th peace of mind...

| My 2005 is 47 wide along the floor at the back hatch, BUT it is only 45 wide about 8 inches in from the hatch. |

If it helps, here is a picture:
I have this weathertech cargo mat in my 05 and I measured it at the rear edge and it was 47 inches, but about 6-8 inches in from the edge (at about the level you see the weathertech logo) the width is only 45 inches.
Hope this helps.
Joe

That would work.
Please post some pictures when you get done. I am interested to see how it turns out. |

I am just going to take the cabinet apart and make it 3 inches shorter...it may take a little longer, but it will be done right.
I will definitely post some pics...
Thanks
for the help...
