You should here the moans and groans from the officers at my station who have to drive autos (the 2 x BMW traffic cars are auto/semi-auto)....they absolutely hate them. As I only get to drive the diesel little police cars its manual all the way and long may it stay that way!! Saying that autos are a real rarity, i've never ever driven one and they tend to be more expensive here.

[quote=\"jeremy0966\"]Great looking car Wink. Did you run the lightbar cable down the pillar to save from drilling a hole or was that the way they were installed back it the day?

The Missouri State Patrol runs the cable along the windshield on all their installs.

The 102" ball mount antenna is for the low-band radio which is the primary communication means for Troopers. CB's are still used but it is Trooper preference if one is installed and has been that way since at least the 80's.

THP uses a low band repeater in their vehicles and use a 44 inch or so whip on the side on a ball mount. Franklin county PD uses the same set up but on VHF

So that car was used with a factory 5 speed? Man, I can't imagine having to shift, along with all that other do-dads, switches and levers while patroling! Shocked

One day while on a lunch break at a ford dealership i used to work at, some of the other techs and i were watching one of those "Wildest police video's" type shows. They started showing a clip of an officer in pursiut of an Iroc camaro or somthing like that. Anyways, while the chase was going on you could clearly hear the guy shifting gears. we were like "what the heck??" Shocked Then the officer got on the P.A. and yelled
"You aint gonna out run me buddy! I got a 5.0!!" Very Happy We all started chearing! Laughing
