Has anyone seen these police camera's being used in some city's? They have a mini-liberty mounted on top!

Like Wall-e would say, WOOOooW!

Couldn�t they simply use a small blue led beacon?, I mean, but a Mini-Liberty?

Yeah, this was posted several years ago. I believe it was determined that it's used as a crime deterrent.

They use those in some parts of Phila., PA. They also use just the small beacon too.

The newest Big Brother cameras in Chicago have a smaller, less obtrusive LED system on top. They also are a much smaller enclosure. Some of the new ones have \"gun shot detectors\" that automatically slew the camera in the direction of the sound of any gunfire.

I see them a lot in N. Philly (hmm...wonder why, there's never any crime there Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes ), especially right near Temple Hospital. I've always wondered why they spend the money for a mini-Liberty too.....

They have them all over Baltimore City (Body-more Murderland). Its kinda funny because they have better equipment mounted on those cameras then they do on their cop cars!

They have them here in Rochester NY with a small LED beacon.

NYPD has these cameras. no lights though. and they are all white with the NYPD logo. worked well in some high crime areas

Dallas Police have them and they have caught criminals in the act as noted in the following article link.

We have a member at Laurel who lives in Baltimore, I always give him a hard time about him claiming that violent crime being down in Baltimore. Rolling Eyes
