I have an install I am doing that requires the following.

When the flasher is turned on, it starts producing back flash (brake lights & reverse lights alternating), but when the brakes are applied the flasher switches to alternating reverse lights, and then when the brakes are let off it reverts back to back flash, does anyone make a flasher like this or will I have to just wire up 2 flashers and a relay to switch between the two. I would prefer a solid state flasher because I think the relays clicking on and off every time they hit the breaks will drive them crazy...

Thanks,

I tried all night to reply, but the board wasn't cooperating. Most flashbacks are built to function as you describe. Here's a link to the SoundOff solid state model.

But he wants the reverse lamps to alternate when the brakes are active - I haven't seen a flasher that will do that yet.

Oops! I re-read what he wanted and yes you're right Andy....the reverse lamps will continue to just flash together when the brake is applied, not alternate between each other. No flasher that I know of either will alternate the reverse. Something could be built with the standard flashback, an additional flasher and a pair of relays to produce the required results, but it's not worth it IMHO.
