check out the different links concerning the apartment fire we had Monday night - Ada38, first one we've had in a year and a half and you roll over and go back to SLEEP? Shocked What's WRONG with you? . . . Exclamation (yeah, yeah, your wife told me it had something to do with keeping your job and paying bills and whatnot, but where are your priorities, man?) Razz

we made the front page of section B of the Press (the Region section), that's me pulling off the first hose line . . . note the full propane tank . . . (they've got some more pretty good ones on their site to, it's one of the links on the page above)

The big thing was how well the firewalls held . . . that particular apartment was completely gutted and destroyed top to bottom (one of the Press pictures shows it pretty well), but the fire never made it outside of that one unit into the rest of the building. The other attached units were untouched except for a couple places where the roof had been compromised on the other side of the wall - we were able to catch those places and stop any spread!

Pfffft!!!! You young pups would've just hogged the hose anyway.. leaving us oldtimers to stand back and watch a bunch of adrenaline charged baffoons runnin' around pretendin' they were important or something and regaling each other with \"back in MY day\" stories..... plus........... well.. it was cold, so.....

If I'm not mistaken, that tank has to be a minimum of 100' away from the structure. That does not look like 100'.

yeah, you probably would have had a hard time keeping up with your arthritic knees, half a lung, etc . . .

couldn't really tell you about codes, all i know is that it was closer than I liked . . . Smile And I don't get credit for turning the tank off, I think that was actually Chief . . .

no, no video, my batteries died as I was turning it on, and I didn't really want to take the time (for obvious reasons) to try and change them . . . seems like I always seem to be unable to get the really good ones Confused

well, right now, I don't have tv or internet at home (no signal in my aprtment, and haven't been able to do anything about improving it yet) so haven't really heard any news, didn't know you guys were having a lot of fires. This particular one didn't go bad, unoccupied, contained to one unit, etc, but y'all can keep the rest of 'em . . . Razz
