For the rear deck of my passat, should I put in a LIN3 on either side of the brake light, or install a single Slimmiser in that general area? Or something different? I have the Lin3s now, so I would trade em up if I used something different. I dont want to spend any money, just trade or sell. These will not be for on scene, but for response.

I would use the LIN3s that you have now, and install them on the rear deck, as you mentioned. I'd also put them on an alternating pattern, with the synch wire connected.
Just my two cents. |

the reason I ask is because a slimmiser is easy to mount and I don't want to drill anything or screw down (would use double stick tape for lin3s)

I would use the Lin3's as well. You already have them, and they will be alot brighter than a slimmiser. Ive had TIR3's on either side of the brake light on my passat and they fit nice and are descrete.

I suppose it all depends on use and whatnot. When I had a passat I used double sided tape and mounted a mini-phantom on top of the third brake light. That worked really well for me. Unless you are fire police, I wouldn't be too concerned with having the brightest light to the rear.
