I tried doing a search but because of the site problems recently it came back with nothing.

Anyways, I want to put a push bar on the front of the Charger. I think it will add character to the car and it will provide increased protection. I'm not planning on ever hitting anything but God-forbid I do, I'd like some extra security. That being said I'm looking at either the Setina PB400 or the Go-Rhino.

What do people think of these bars? I kind of like the idea of the Setina because I could get the lighter weight aluminum and also the Metallic/Silver Aluminum powdercoating. This would keep weight down and I think the color would go well with the car. On the other hand, how does the aluminum compare to the steel in regards to strength in an accident? Also, you pay extra with Setina for the rubber padding where as the Go-Rhino is basically all inclusive price wise.

Give me your thoughts people.

I think the car is beautiful how it is right now. I think a push bumper would draw unwanted attention to the car. Confused

I normally am an all Pro-Gard guy...all the Crown Vics I have done I install Pro-Gard for everything from the push bumpers to cage to window bars but...After seeing the Pro-Gard push bumper on the Charger my opinion is it is not wide enough. The Setina PB-400 is wide enough that the vertical parts are at the edge of the Charger grill. Also, Setina makes the PB-400 in steel as well, a little bit heavier but alot stronger.

Just my .02

If you want a cop car, buy a cop car. If you get into a real accident, the only thing a pushbar is going to do is create more damage. I am speaking from experience. The only thing pushbars are good for is just that; pushing. A slow deliberate application of pressure directly to the front of the unit. Not a 50mph smash at an angle.

Pushbars can also mitigate deer damage. It may not prevent it totally, but we've had several cars that are in better shape because they had a push bumper.

Speaking of that, I hit one on Friday... only thing that happened was I bent a speaker bracket and got some fur stuck behind the rubber piece of the push bumper. The dear wasnt as lucky I hit it dead center.
