Well first off I can not give tooo many details as the SO is still looking for suspects and may still be out on the Reservation.
On Tuesday night I went on a ride along with my friend, on a Reservation that is deemed the worst in So Cal, about three shootings involving the Riverside County Sheriff's department resulting in 4 people killed happened this year alone, just on that Reservation.
Well the shift started at 2300 and NOTHING was going on until 0607, we got off at 0700. Got a report of a vehicle taken at gunpoint. I will stop there as it goes into details I do not want to put out there. Except me and him spotted the vehicle and subject and kept and eye along with other tribal officers until the SO could show up.
Anyway lets just say that the SO responded about 15-20 black and white units, 10 detectives, brass, and about 20 ERT (Their SWAT Team) to the area with about 4-6 armored vehiles, bobcat like tractor, robot, military tow truck for armored vehicles, three helicopters, mobile command post, tracking dogs.
Since it was early in the morning before their helicopters could get in the air, they were using a CAL-FIRE spotter plane to search for about an hour at first.
Ok so shift ended at 0700, my friend who is the tribal officer, and I stayed until 1600, when I left at 1600 he was STILL there. We also had to go to the Sheriff's Station and give statements and everything.
Nothing like that happened to me when I was a cop, or when I worked at the other Indian Reservation.
