There used to be a site fire-ems.net which is now defunct. Someone had posted a link there to Elightbars. Fire-ems.net can stay defunct; there was absolutely no control over what was posted and it was a free for all there.

Ah, I remember it as if it were yesterday. It was October 28th, a friday, three days prior to Halloween. I had been scheduled for a night out on the town with some friends in Niagara Falls, but those plans abruptly dispersed, for medical reasons (not me, a friend, he had some bad guacamole the night before, and, well, lets just say the toilet flushed more than once that night). Anyways, 'Twas an unseasonably warm night. It was already dark when I entered the room containing the computer (the actual room in which I currenty occupy). An instant after clicking on te blue \"e\" icon, Google, the set home page of the time, appeared. I was in search of a lightbar at the time, and decided to enter the words \"lightbars for sale\". I tend to look down at the keyboard while typing, and am usually unaware of errors for a brief period of time. After typing what I thought to be the word \"lightbars\", I looked at the screen, and witnessed the fact that I had accidentally placed an \"e\" infront of the word. After some mild cursing, I \"reached\" for the \"BackSpace\" key, but accidentally depressed the designated \"Enter\" key, which is placed directly below \"BackSpace\". And there it was, the first listing: \"eLightbars, Home - Welcome to eLightbars.org a diverse community of light...\" After ensuring the system that I was indeed over 13 years of age in the \"Registration\" procedure, I selected \"I 26\" as a username, and went on to posting my first post: \"What is a jog light?\".

A great achievement that defies the limits of the International Network, John should be proud!

I selected \"other\" because I have absolutely no recollection how I found out about it. It has been several years now.

If there had been a voting choice of \"I don't remember\", then that is what I would have selected.

Same as Pat H. The fire-ems.net board was totally out of control. John started the new site & we've grown & grown & grown into the elightbars community we are now. We've come a long ways, and things have only gotten better.

I don't quite remember how I got my firstr word of this site, but I do know it was from way back when the board was under Boardhost, before John and Blake went to this new fangled system!

John, are you still doing any animations, like you used to do?

I did a google search on something for the 911EP TD39 and the archives of this forum had the only relevant result. I checked it out, then checked out the forum itself and found out that this what the forum I absolutely had to join.

I found it when a member at www.crownvic.net suggested to another member to look there for the answer they were seeking. I then checked it out and signed up. So www.crownvic.net is how I found it.

I was bored at work and had stumbled across a british emergency vehicles forum. As I was reading through the different threads and watching them rant and rave about how expensive Whelen stuff is on the other side of the ocean I saw a link to this site and clicked it. Being the lightbar nut that I am I bookmarked it and left. A few days later bored at work again and tired of decyphering british english I decided to check out this site that I had bookmarked. Read through the threads and liked what I saw. I joined and here I am, annoying anyone who will listen Laughing
