Looks like you did \"the old man\" a favor, by showing blurry pictures of him.......

Anything other than that might have damaged that camera of yours.......

I am just suprised you didn't get pictures of the LED lights on his walker with the tennis balls on the bottom of it........ Laughing Razz

I know a couple of people who just may get a surprise \"inactive\" error message when they go to log in!! Rolling Eyes

There were some great setups there, heh Mick!!

I can't remember whether it was the Superduty in the photo or another one we had, where there were strobes installed in the door courtesy lights that activated when the door was open.

That looks like a cool place to be. I liked the Avalanche the best. Really sharp looking piece of equipment. I'd like to go see that competition next year too.

That is a Star SVP Razor. That is the rep's demo car. He also runs the light contest as well for Time Emergency.

Not sure if the Super8 has one or not. Thats where I am staying that weekend. Wayyyy too far for me to commute; right around 200 miles north of where I live.

What are the lights near the bottom of the side of the truck... around where a nerf bar would be located.

They look like Whelen Strip-Lites, but it looks like there are quite a few of them. I can't imagine the guy paid $120/pc x 16 for the truck.

yes, and yes. Laughing

Actually, it's the annual Firefighter Memorial - on Saturday morning, they do a memorial service and add the names of the firefighters who have died in the last year (or whose applications were received in that year). Around that event, they have sort of \"flea market\" and a bunch of demonstrations and such. These pictures were taken on Friday night at the \"Bright Lights Showdown\" - of which our own Pat H is one of the judges (after being kicked out of competing 'cause he wouldn't let anyone else win, I've heard Laughing ) And yes, Pat, there are some pretty incredible setups.

Actually, I'm not sure what they are, personally, but it honestly would not surprise me if he did spend that much - like I said, some of these set ups are incredible!

All in all, it's a great time of \"brotherhood and comaradarie\" along with honoring those who have died, especially the ones who gave their lives in the line of duty (I'll have more pictures soon, just getting around to getting them developed Confused ) and I'll post them when I do . . . And hopefully, this year I'll win the car category (I've got seveal ideas up my sleeve that I hope to accomplish between now and then Cool )

I'm definitely planning to go this year - Captain Thornton will be added. (And like I said, I'm also hoping to win the showdown Laughing ). Not sure where I'll be staying, though, or whether or not I'll have extra room Cool . One thing I do know, our church District has a campground about an hour away that I stayed at last year . . . I also know that, probably more along the lines of some of your preferences, there is a KOA (or similar) campground nearby that a bunch of them stay at - they have either a really cheap or free rate (don't remember what I was told . . . ) and I've heard that there is quite a lot of drinking in certain sectors of that campground . . . It is part of the Michigan Firemens Memorial Festival held in Roscommon, Michigan; the 3rd weekend in September every year. It is held Thursday-Sunday.

As for the vehicle lighting deal, it is called the \"Bright Light Vehicle Showdown\". Last year, I think we had close to 25-30 vehicles entered. One must be in the fire or ems service to enter, and its privately owned vehicles only. No department owned or emergency equipment dealer owned vehicles are allowed. Registration to enter is required.

Judging is done on number, placement, and quality of installation. We have seen some real hack jobs; and we see some excellent high quality installations. We also discount any crap from the auto parts stores, and the lighting must conform to state law or its also discounted.

Trophies and prizes are awarded to the winners.

I remember the faithful day I made the venture out to Pat H's house to pick up my Excalibur... it was amazing. His house... no, castle, is something we only hear about in fairly tales. With a scanner that can be heard throughout the land and enough emergency equipment in his basement to make small children cry. Oh, and there is a river that runs through his basement! Laughing How many people have that?!? Wow, too much sugar this morning... anyways... I know it is a while off, but we should have some sort of elightbars get together up in Roscommon. I haven't been yet, but I hear it's a blast.

To clarify OTFD122; I have the \"house from hell\". But that is another story in itself.

Anyway, Sara & Pat from Priority One are also one of the vendors who set up shop up there on the grounds for the Festival.
