I have dealt with 3 companies cause I sell all 3 but they are Sure-Fire, Streamlight and Pelican.

If you want the best battery opperated light for minimal cost the Pelican Light is the best hands down.

Streamlight has good lights for good prices..

Sure-Fire good lights, expensive but their Customer Service is the F-Ing Worst in the business.

I have all 3 types of lights in my bag that you mention, LED, Halogen and Xenon.

I like my Pelican M6 which I have in Xenon and LED.. Not bad for about $40-60..

I love my Pelican M6 (Xenon) as well!!!!!!! It's an awesome light for the size.

If you want equal light performance, get the $20 one from WalMart. It's plastic instead of aluminum(?) but the light output is very much the same.

You can get CHEAP C123As for it on www.batterystation.com. Compare $2 each vs Walmart's $8 for two Duracells.

I like my M6 light too, except it's not a Pelican, it's a Streamlight and it's mounted on my Glock!

I love my M6 also. And I mean the Streamlight M6 Tactical Light/Laser on my Glock.

Now for the Flashlights, I carry a Streamlight UltraStinger, and I swear buy it. I used to carry a MagLite MagCharger and used it for 6-7 years and only replaced the battery twice!!!!!! And it got ALOT of use. I decided to buy the UltraStinger after a frind at work got one, and I was blowen away by the brightness. The MagCharger had about 30,000-40,000 CP while the UltraStinger has 75,000 CP, it is a much trueer brighter white light and I am in love with it. I passed my MagCharger to another friend at work that was stuck with a 2Cell MagLite, now he likes the brightness he has compared to his old light.

For a backup and for dayshift, I carry a Stinger on my duty belt. I used to carry a Stinger XT for 5+ years, right after they first came out. But I found it was hard to pull out of the holster with the rubber grip. It was also not the brightest compared to teh newer Stingers with the new and improved reflector. But I love my Stinger and the UltraStinger and always keep them fully charged so they are at the ready. They have never failed me, and I would buy them again.

Also the Stinger and the UltraStinger are not as bulky and as big in diameter as other lights so they can easily slide in a back pocket and not take up too much room.

I do not have a flashlight ring on my belt, and we are not allowed to wear trousers with 'Sap' or billy-club pockets and the UltraStinger fits nicely into my rear pocket with it half in and half out, but not like I am carry a 2inch round thing in my pocket.

If you are looking for a bigger light like the full size MagLite or MagCharger or the Streamlight SL20X or SL30X, get a MagLite brand light, I would get a MagCharger as you will save on batteries, they are brighter than the Steamlight SL20 and SL30, and with the MagLites you can adjust the beam, spot to flood. The SL-0X are fixed heads and I am not impressed with them at all in terms of brightness. We have them at work to check out for a shift and they suck!! They are always dim even after being on the charger for 16+ hours and they are never in fouces or able to be refocused after they are dropped a few times. The UltraStinger or a Stinger HP type light are ones you should look into. The Stinger HP is the same size as a regular Stinger with a High Performance head on it that makes the 15,000 CP light into a 40,000 so it packs a big punch in a small light, and the UltraStinger would beat the heck out of any handheld flashlight with out paying 200-250.00+ for it.

I am giving you my vote to get a UltraStringer, go to a uniform shop and test it out, you will be inpressed. Whatever you get try to get a rechargable one. It is much easier than having to buy special batteries every few weeks depending on how much you use it.

Hope this helps

Streamlight HP!

I got this rechargable flashlight for x-mas. This thing is awesome! It's small enough to carry around on a duty belt or whatever you need to carry it on, has a house and a car charger, and its 40000CP! I was amazed at how bright this thing was for how small it was. 8\" long, and its nearly 4 times as powerful as my 6D cell maglight. I absolutely love it. One thing that I dont know if it matters to you is it is an awesome spot pattern, not so good with the flood pattern.

Just my 2 cents. I'm kindof a flashlight freak. I've owner surefire light which I will never buy again. I've ad alot of porblems with them and as someone had stated their customer service blows.
My choice in lights are streamlights. I prefer the stinger above all else. at 125 lumens it 's got plenty of light output for anything you could want to illuminate. I actually just bought a Stinger HP and it's crap. The optics and beam quality suck, and the extra bulkiness of it dosen't justify the little bit more light out put. And just a note on that the stinger put out 125 lumens, and the stinger HP 120 lumens. Lumens are what's important. The lumen rating is the amount the light actually puts out at the reflector. Candle power is the measure of light at a specific point in the beam pattern. So as crazy as it sounds even know the stinger is 15,000cp qand the hp is 40,000cp the stinger actually puts out more useful light than the hp.
Yea that's all I got.

Thats why I refuse to sell them ever again. They also upped their mininum order so if a dealer is out of stock they either have to order X of dollars at a time or not order at all.
