Okay, okay. Now I see what everybody else is talking about when they say collecting these things is a sickness Laughing .

Federal Vista - I asked the wife, \"Check out my new lightbar!\" She said, \"Looks like a snowboard to me.\"

Federal Vector - Recently retired from Tulsa. I was suprised how easily the domes cleared up with wet sanding & polish.

Rotating Beacons - Various flavors and sizes.

Code 3 MX7000 - My first lightbar, and the one that started my collecting frenzy. Came from San Diego.

Code 3 LP6000 - This bar was in awful shape. The components were creatively rearranged. My first restoration, the asset tag says Missouri HP. Polishing and parts from members here took it back to its original config.

Code 3 Force 4 - From a rural firetruck in Kansas that saw very little action, so it's in remarkable shape.

SVP Impulse - An SVP Impulse from a retired patrol car in Oklahoma. I got several in an auction pallet. I replaced the rotators with Code 3 Free-Form units.

Federal Aerodynic - This is the first lightbar I used the Powerball to polish and was amazed with the results. Came off an Army Police jeep.

Federal JetStream - This one was covered with a heavy layer of dust & grime after being stored in a crawl space for years, but shines now.

Federal JetSonic - This is my first new, never mounted, lightbar. Definately one of my favorites.

Federal StreetHawk - This StreetHawk was a creation of spare parts and brand new domes.

Yankee 911 - This one has detailed restore info on another thread. Traced it back to Cockrell Hill, TX.

Very nice collection in such a short time. Why get rid of the TwinSonic? I should not.

The SVP Impulse is my favourite 'modern' light bar. I like the rounded end caps. I like the Impulse mini bars especially.

Federal JetSonic - Another one bought here, this is my first \"New Old Stock\" bar. I could convert the center section to a JetStream, but the nostalgia of the speaker section and the \"un-messed with\" appeal of this bar is starting to grow on me. Definately my favorite bar at the moment.

.

+1

I've just have ones, and the speaker section is so old school, give all its personnality !

How do you polish the domes so well? I wanna restore my LPs domes and not have to buy new ones (although I do get a military discount from a local distributor ). What do you use?

I'd leave it as is. The Jetstream is a very common bar and some departments that have Jetsonics have converted them to Jetstream configuration. The original Jetsonic is becoming more of a rare item, especially one in that condition.

Thanks for all the replies. For those asking about cleaning up domes, I use PlastiX, a Power Ball and a cordless drill to polish the domes (all available at Wal-Mart). The Jetstream is new, never been mounted. Came to me in the original Federal box from a member here. When I stare at it my wife gets jealous Laughing .

Nice beacon collection.
By the way, what is the blue beacon in the back row between the Dietz and the Federal? It look like a Do-Ray 4002.

Thanks for the compliments everybody.

The blue beacon is a mystery to me. The words \"KD 879\" and \"KD Lamp Company\" are stamped on the skirt. I'm sure somebody here can tell us about KD Lamp Co?

p.s. It could use a nice replacement dome if anybody's got one?

Now I know what beacon it is. I found it in one of my old K-D Lamp catalogs.
I have never seen a photo of it before.

The catalog numbers are 879-3101 for amber, 879-3201 for blue and 879-3601 for red.

It is 8\" x 8\" and is made by chrome plated steel as all old K-D lamp warning lights was.
Newer ones was made by stainless steel.
Lens numbers are: 3451-001 for amber, 3452-021 for blue and 3456-061 for red.

The original K-D Lamp Co. was a company located in Cincinnati, OH and was a company that manufactured auto parts like Dietz. Signal-Stat, Yankee, Peterson and Arrow.
They was bought by ATC Lighting & Plastics, Inc. and is now located in Andover, OH.
Unfortunatly they do not manufacture sealed beam beacons no more.
