hi i just purchased a Whelen PE215 strobe supply and i need the wiring information for it. there is a black, red, purple, white wire. i know red is positive and black is ground but what is purple and white? If anybody knows it would be appreciated thanks.

You do know that this is a pre-emption strobe supply for a liberty or patriot lightbar, right?

The white wire's connection determines which priority mode the supply is in when flashing. Connect it to ground or leave it unhooked will put it in high priority mode, while connecting it to power will put it in low priority mode.

The violet wire should be attached to a momentary switch. The power and ground connections should be made to the battery. power fused at 5 amps.

The unit will latch on when power is momentarily applied to the violet wire via momentary switch.

Better check the laws in your state if you're using this item for its intended purpose.
