Account warnings, to help 99%, scary to the 1%
On eLightbars, as in most situations in life, 1% of people screw things up for the 99% that are playing nicely. There are certain users that are constantly violating basic site rules. In an effort to better zero in on these users and focus attention away from normal users with the occasional mistake, we have overhauled our infraction/warning system. Now every time we ask a user to please refrain from early bumping, or remind someone of another rule a warning gets recorded. These do nothing as in of them selves. It's just a way for us to focus in on chronic problems vs. occasional mis-posts. This will also help avoid the problem of users getting a reminder from more than one mod, which is annoying. So if you happen to get a message saying you got an infraction/warning, don't freak out. Just read it and see what it's for and how you can avoid the problem in the future. It means nothing more than the PMs we send now, it's just better record keeping. Again, this will only help 99% of users.
