    Shipping costs guide (project)

I have a project for an ambitious soul...... who ever takes this on will be upgraded to premium membership (http://elightbars.org/f12/site-chang...92/#post173510) as long as they maintain the reference guide.

I'd like to make a shipping price reference.... so that members can have a quick approx guide to what is reasonable for shipping. I like to compare the major carriers by via chart showing 10 or so typical elightbars item sizes and weights... I'd like to include prices for each from West coast to east coast, west coast to middle America, East coast to middle America, US to Canada, US to Major European nations etc.

First we need to decide on the package sizes and weights commonly shipped here.... I'd say maybe 2 full bar examples, 2 mini bar examples, 2 small part examples and 1 or 2 "over size" examples.

Below is a very rough sketch of the kind of thing I'm looking for, not nearly complete obviously.

Once that database is created, how often do you think the rates will need to be checked? Quarterly, semi-annual, etc?

I would like to see it updated every 90 days, but I'd settle for 180. If someone could code an java or flash ap that auto-updated every day that would be easier.... but a graph or spreadsheet would work.

I've grown familiar with the USPS over the last couple of years. There are two things you'll need before you can calculate shipping costs: a Zone Chart relative to the zone your package is being shipped from, and the appropriate section of Notice 123, for Express Mail, Priority Mail or Parcel Post.
