Auto car wash
Anyone have input if they would damage a lightbar, like fog the lenses? Rain X or wax?

Depends on the equipment and chemicals they use. Just like the finish on your car. Touchless with mild chemicals are your best bet for a "car wash". The best care for your vehicle is a professional auto detailer.

The law enforcement agencies in my area all run their cars through the automatic car washes around here with no problems. They all run Whelen Freedoms, Liberties, and Edge bars with a couple Code 3 2100 series thrown in. The only bars that seem to experience fading issues are the Code 3 Javelins FHP runs.

Well I have a Valor and want nothing happening to it. The reason I ask is because, they offer a unlimited wash for a year for $200 and I am tired of washing by hand

If your not in an area with a lot of gritty dust or sand, that's a plus. That stuff can build up on car wash equipment and cause issues with clear coats and plastics.

Canada382 PostsIf it's a department-purchased bar, whatever. But I'm not taking my personally-owned WeCan Liberty through a meat grinder auto wash, ever. Not to mention it is NO friend to your clear coat.

I've used brushless, or no touch wash, with a streethawk, edge, and MX7000 with no problem. I've always been hesitant to use those brush, or strip washes with a lightbar. Of course Dallas PD has brush washes, when they work, and have done fine for 20 years. Like most things these days, its all about what you want to do.

$200 a year for unlimited? That's a great deal! We have only one car wash around here with an unlimited deal, and it's $50/mo!

it's brand new and uses soft foam brushes. I thought I heard about someone taking a bar through a was and fog/smoke the lenses.
