    Code 3 LSS222 issues

    Anyone else having any?

I picked one up a while ago, and after it ran for 30 mins mounted to a roof on a night call, went to remove it and the lens glue had let go from the base.. I've also found now the LED's are dimmer than when I first purchased it.

Called Code 3, they are warranting it without question. Just have to ship it to them, and wait for the replacement lead time, as they don't stock my "custom" color.

Overall I'm impressed with the warranty service thus far, just wondering if anyone else has had an issue with their beacon.

So UPS attempted to charge me $42.00 USD brokerage since Code 3 didn't fill out the paperwork right. Took 3 days to resolve, but they fixed it on their end.

Finally got the box last Friday afternoon.... Opened it up and.... They shipped the wrong item.. I now have a pole mount beacon instead of a mag mount with a cig plug....

Called today, they have to look into it.....and will call me back.

I just had this same problem Friday!

I was showing the LSS222 beacon to a customer and went to remove it from his roof...
Due to the magnet/suction mount, it kind-of slid across the roof as I pulled it toward me, and the dome popped off.
The only thing that partially held the dome on was the Code 3 sticker.
To my surprise, I looked at what was happening and it appears the "glue" failed.
I hadn't really thought about it before then, but it appears that this "glue" is the only way the dome
stays on the light.....and obviously isn't working.

Unlisted: given your trouble, I'm not looking forward to dealing with Code 3 about this..

Well they were very quick to ship a replacement to me... Just have them read back what they are sending back to you for warranty replacement when you call in. Make sure it's the same specs. I cannot see u having any ups brokerage issues as you are in the usa.

While on this topic.. Anyone ever figure out which company in taiwain is making these for code 3??? I have an idea I want to try but im not wanting to pay code 3 pricing for something I'm going to tear into....

Its made by Britax in the UK. Code 3 shares a lot of their products, like the 420 beacon, the whisper drive beacon, I think the dashlaser is a premier hazzard product, cant remember

We use this beacon with magnectic base as a 'throw light' to meet certain 'department' policies with unmarked vehicles. I've personally had two fail with seperation from the plastic beacon to rubber base portion around the screws (simply snapped) in the past 12 months.

Our Code 3 products are supplied through Britax here if that helps...
