    Connect two mini phantoms?

I'm planning to use two of the new mini phantoms in my cars windshield. I wanted to know if it's possible to connect them both into one of the cigar plugs to preserve the ability to switch patterns on the go.

Yes, if you have the Mini-Phantom with the pattern selector switch on the cig plug you can do that, because there are three wires inside the cable. However keep in mind that they will not sync because there is no sync function on the Mini-Phantom.

Also, I would suggest cutting the plugs off both lights a few inches from the plug and splicing the three sets of three wires each together with butt splices. Trying to take apart the cig plug is only going to land you with a broken cig plug.

Ok that sounds good. I just wanted to be able to have them on the same pattern and switch at the same time. Unsynched will make it look interesting.

You can synchronize the new mini phantom ulb9s-1's. If you have not purchased the lights yet you may want to consider this model mini phantom. I have orders two for my trucks headliner. Check out their product sheet.

The sync version of the Mini-Phantom (ULB9-1) has been around for years, however it only has 3 flash pattern which doesn't make it very appealing to most people. If you haven't purchased your lights yet I would highly suggest the STARBURST Mini-Phantom, and if syncing and a wide variety of patterns is important the VersaStar Series Dash Lights:

Jared - I spoke with a sales rep from Star and she said the new starburst mini phantom ulb9s-1 will have all 35 flash patterns and can be synced. The ulb9s can not be synced. The two light kit that can be syncedand that only offers 6 flash patterns is the RLKULB9S. I am not disagreeing with your posts, im just letting you know what the rep said about the new ulb9s-1's. She also said they come with a 15 ft 4 wire harness. I should be getting my order next week and will confirm the actual number of patterns.

Jeff, the S on the end is just the STARBURST LEDs, the ULB9, ULB9-1 and RLKULB9-1 have been around for at least 5-6 years, I'm very familiar with all three of them. I can tell you for sure that the ULB9-1 and the RLKULB9-1 (really just two of the ULB9-1s) both only have 3 flash patterns (they say six on the RLKULB9-1 because you have two phases). All three are now available with the STARBURST LEDs, however I've only personally played with the ULB9S. From my understanding from engineering before they went into production, the ULB9S-1 and RLKULB9S-1 are using the same flashers as the ULB9-1 and RLKULB9-1 which is the same flasher as the DL15-6W-1K, the manual on the site also shows the 3 patterns for the ULB9S-1 Star ULB9 Series Manual - Star Headlight & Lantern Company, Avon, NY
Seems like you were told something different, I hope you are right, it would be great to have the sync option on the 35 patterns.

Would the mounting options be the same as getting the normal window mount ones?

Jared - you are right. My GSA rep didn't seem confident in her response to my question. I ordered one RR and one bb. Would you happen to have seen a video for the three available flash patterns? I was optimistic. I hope the three flash patterns are at least decent. I tried to find them on the web with no luck. Thanks

I just checked, I thought I might have a video of the DL-15 two-headed-dragon, but I don't. I don't care for them, but the random is the best of the bunch.

Yep, the ULB9-1 & ULB9S-1 have the suction cup, bail/deck bracket, and the rear-view mirror clamp mount. The two-headed-dragon (RLKULB9-1/RLKULB9S-1) only has the bail/deck mount.
