    MX7000 Build

I recently purchased a 58" MX7000 to put on a wrecker that we recently purchased. I got it with the intention of stripping it down and rebuilding it how I want it. I had a bunch of bars sitting around, so I decided to steal parts off of them in order to get it up to snuff.

The bar is currently set up with:

    - 6 rotators (4 slow, 2 fast)
    - Intersection sweeps
    - 2 LED-X modules
    - Alleys and takedowns
    - 1 7x3 strobe that was previously used for a preemption system

Here is the progress so far:

And here are the bars that will be giving their lives to rebuild the wrecker bar:

I'll keep this thread updated as I move forward.

What are you wanting to do? What is the finished product going to have in it?

Are the MX's you have in working condition? I'm not a big fan of killing a working lightbar to make another one. Maybe someone on here has a bunch of MX parts, and you can negotiate a trade. Are you going to strip the strobes out of the JetStrobe bar?
Beware the LASER JetSonic. It will mess you up!

that's what he wants to do however! ... add a section MX Central, LED-X modules and strobes of Jetstrobe ... looks sweet!

I have no use for the MX7000s. I have tried selling them and have gotten nowhere, so they were just taking up space anyway.

I was planning on using one of the power supplies and some of the strobes out of the Jetstrobe, but unfortunately the power supply does not fit in the MX7000. So instead, I am just using two Tomar Rect-37s that I have lying around.

The final bar is going to have four rotators (two slow, two fast), two halogen flashers to the front, two Rect-37s to the rear, two LED-X modules to the rear, two rear work lights, two STTs, and two intersection sweepers with amber filters.

the mx is a very versatile platform to work with I loaded out a 58 for my silverado a few years back and I have been very happy with the bar. it pretty much loaded, check out my post below for specs of what i added. I opted to use the ledx heads because they could be double stacked in the lowe section for more lighting.

I appreciate the offer, but I think I am going to stick with what I have now. I am trying to keep the budget low by using parts I have lying around the garage.

The bar is almost done. I have everything put together, but for some reason one of the intersection sweeps isn't working right. I'll have to remedy that.

And also, I figured out what will happen if you put a red LED module behind a blue lens. I figured it would be a moderately dimmer purple color. As it turns out, I was wrong.

What a difference! I was sad to see the bar go, but I am glad that you are able to give it a new life. It looks great!

Lenses look clean, and the LED's look good.

Very nice work. The other MX's gave their lives for a good cause.
