Need help on a non working Viper S2

Hello, I just bought a Viper S2 LED from a member here. I bench tested it when I got it and it worked for all of 10 seconds then stopped working. Now it doesn't even light up. I do notice that when I apply power, there is a very small spark on the positive wire when I touch it to the positive lead.

Light in just passed warranty date.

I used a 12v DC converter at 3amps. I have used this device for many years on hundreds of different lights and it has NEVER burned any of them out. So I am ruling that out as a cause.

I am wondering if anyone knows anything I can try? I called FedSig and they pretty much said send it in. There shop rate plus shipping is almost as much as I paid for the damn thing so I'd rather just throw it away.

Any help or insight would be greatly appreciated.

P.S. anyone else think FedSig tech support blows compared to Whelen? The guy I talked to didn't have a clue about the light. Whelen always has their ducks in row.

    Thanks!
Need I say more? I think not

Sounds ike the magical blue smoke was let out...

Sparking/arcing normally means short to me.
An annoyance online since original BBS days- early 90's. Damn I miss modem tones... but not 14.4 kbit/s.

You know what the chain of command is? It's the chain I'm going to get and beat you with until you understand who's in command here.... (best quote ever!)
I collect green lighting. Let me know what you have!

    Regarding Viper S2 repairs:

    1. Pick up light.
    2. Carry to nearest trash receptacle.
    3. Open lid of said trash receptacle.
    4. Place Viper S2 inside.
    5. Close lid.
    7. Replace light with eBay chi-com knock-off for equivalent chance of reliable service.

Federal Signal is a pain to deal with.

Make sure your power wires aren't melted or connected together.

I've never had an issue with them. And they are fast on the repairs.

If all else fails, I can fix you up with my Viper S1 single-face stroble w/blue lens. It's always worked fine.

Correction: My Viper is also an S1, not an S2. The S2 is the the dual-faced light.
