    Newbie with questions

Hi I am new to the site and before I joined I planned on ordering 8 SM24's and 2 mini traffic enforcers all in green from LED Outfitters. But now after reading reviews of the site I am hesitant. So yes I have done searching and I GeV not heard good things about LED Outfitters. Basically I want 4 grill lights and 4 in the back window (so 6-8 surface mount/ grill lights) of my truck along with something in the windshield and I had $250 to spend so with outfitters deal I could get everything I needed for about that. Is thre any better places I can get all that for about that price? Sorry for rambling on but I am just pretty clueless to all of this, I know the basics that Whelen and federal sign are good but there not in my price range.

    Thanks

First off, welcome to the forum and THANK YOU for using the search feature

Second, I would look in to arklamisslights.com. The owner (Pimp) is a member on the forum and has good reviews.

I think I have decided on the setup I will try to order this week.
The front: 4 SM24's in the grill
2 mini traffic enforcers 5-m's linked together in the windshield

The rear: 2 SM24's in the rear window

    All in green

Near future plans: 2 more green SM24's in the rear window

Future plans: Green traffic director (not sure on details)
Green SM24's in either rear side window
Clear LED hideaways in highbeams and back up lights

All ordered from Michiana Emergency Lights

I'm pretty set on green but since I am not a EMS of voulenteer it may wind up being amber?? (Wisconsin statues don't say anything about green that I have been able to find yet) it would mainly be for small amounts if roadside assistance and ocassinally for work when were direct injecting from the side of the road. However I would eventually become a volunteer firefighter

All of this on my White 2001 GMC Sierra EXT. Cab short box.

So what do you all think? I think it should look good.

Why don't you stick with an amber beacon until you get things figured out with why you need the lights.

That is (from what I am guessing) STL's main clientele is, newer people to the lighting field, and they get suckered in before knowing the truth!! Glad you came here and actually did some research first!!!!!!

Yeh, it's amazing what a professional looking website will make people think about a product.

I would stick to amber since you are not a LEO, EMT or Fire Fighter.
It's considered "whackerish" to install emergency lighting when you are a civilian.
I don't see a problem with a flashing amber beacon or something very simple, heck hazard lights work just fine if you are working on the side of the road.
Stay away from "roadside assistance" that too is considered "whackerish", a good way to get in trouble or worse hurt.
Once you get the proper training and certified, then if it is allowed by the department, install emergency equipment.
    IMOHO of course!

    Because it's potentially illegal.

I really like having some sort of traffic advisor, if used correctly. The problem is, most operators have no idea how to use it correctly. They get set on the "warn" or "center out" pattern and left there.

Green lights in Wisconsin indicate a command post. If you try using those and you're not a command post or in ANY case on a moving vehicle, you're going to get a ticket/impound.

You beat me to it. Definitely do not use anything but amber in Wisconsin unless you have reason to do so.

And no...because you can is not a good enough reason.

Those bars look good! But the prices seem eerily cheap... Do you have any more info on the company? Do you have one?

The catch is they take 4+ weeks to arrive at your door.

The company is fairly new, and the owner is a very active member here. I did a review, which you can find in the equipment reviews section.
