    Push bumper lights

I am installing a push bumper on my 2010 Dodge ram and want some really, really, really bright lights (drive a lot on non-lit, country roads) to use on the road that won't drain my battery. Suggestions????????

Right around $250.00/each. They make for a great "moose light," as they call them around here. VERY effective.

I threw on a pair of Hella driving lights on my 09 Ram...they work really well, and the pair cost me $100.

Some people couldn't get it together even if it came in a combo!

If it was my truck, I's have a hard time choosing between a pair of Whelen's Micro Pioneers or a pair of their PAR46 spot/warn lights in the rubber housing with swivel bracket version, which allows for separate switching of spot & warn functions. I currently have a pair of Micro Pioneers mounted behind the grille of my cruiser and they are impressive. I also have the post-mount spotlight PAR46 spot/warn and it is also impressive...

FWIW, video doesn't do any of the lighting on this car justice.

Driving with the Micros is a whole new experience. I have photos showing the difference between high beams and micros...easily double the forward visibility, more like 2.5 to 3 times in most situations. Plus, everything reflective lights up for over a half mile on straight-a-ways. Have to believe, but they are very good lights. Plus, they come with 4 lenses to allow you to tailor the beam to your needs...spot, flood, wide flood, and horizontal flood. Add a flasher and you have impressive warning and traffic moving ability.

Look, you have a nice truck that you're proud of. Add some good lights. Halogen is cheaper, but I think LED is the way to go. HID performance at a better price. These Whelen's products are made in the USA and will give you pride of ownership and knowing that you have something that very few others even know exist. If you think Whelen's pricing is high, then you haven't really looked at the truck/suv accessory lighting market...

    Highbeams:

    Micro Pioneers:

Note pedestrian on left shoulder. I have the spot lenses installed and remember, these are behind the grille in my car, which limits the beam a bit. One prevented pedestrian/deer/dog/debris strike easily covers the modest cost of a pair of good lights.

Quoted for GOSPEL. Just on my POV driving the Alcan highway, the lights on my blazer and silverado saved thousands of $$ worth of body damage avoiding bear, moose, buffalo, and caribou.

What's the going price for those mini-pioneers? I'd like to see how they do in a side-by-side comparison to the same size Rigid unit... but the Rigid's don't have a choice with lensing, like the mini's do. The 8 degree vertical by 40 degree horizontal sounds like it would be fantastic for my needs.

Honestly, I'm not really impressed with what I get out of my 240 blitzes... high power drain, generally bleh patterns across the board regardless of lensing, and black spots due to the reflector and focus design.

That, and they're huge. All the lightforces I've used for work or on my own have suffered from the same issues... specifically, focus like a bulbed Maglite.

NNE, Unless they've changed things up, Rigids are available from the factory with various lens configurations.... but they're not user configurable. You buys your toys and you takes your chances... unlike being able to configure to your tastes or needs at the consumer level with the Whelens.

i get what your saying now. IMO i dont like switchable lenses on work lights or driving lights because for it to be efficient it would need to replace everything infront of the led itself not just the last lens.

    Hella 770's

Thanks for all the input. I decided to go with the Hella 770's with the HID conversion. I would love to get the Whelen lights but $250.00 each is a bit out of my budget. Thank you all again for your thoughts.

    Hella 770's

They were 72.49 delivered from Amazon.com. I had a set of HID's (which I think I paid 40.00 for them). I will post picks and video.

Whats the Difference in a Whelen Pioneer and a Whelen WL200 Model that looks just like a Pioneer?
