Anyone done an install on a 01-02 Sierra/Silverado

Hello gang, I'm going to be picking up an 02 sierra with bucket seats, and am looking for ideas on mounting equipment in the interior of the truck. The interior looks like the one I found on the web below. I'm looking to install a UHF tk8180 remote mount, a remote mount a5 vhf spectra, a scanner and possibly a cb. I would like to avoid taking out the stock console and going with a full console in it. I'm thinking about placing the switches in the overhead console, I also saw someone on here that placed an 8180 in where the stock cassette player was, which looked good. That still leaves me with a lot of other equipment to be mounted. If anyone can give me some info I'd appreciate it.

I have an 03 Sierra, looks identical to your pics. However I took out the center console and put in a Havis Shields to install all my equipment. Just made it easier and gave it a professional look.

Thanks. Thats my backup plan, especially since I already have the console. Was just looking at other options.

You could just remove the front portion of the factory console (where the storage cubbies are at), and put a small, tall console in with an angled face. Probably less headache than removing the entire factory console.

I had an 01 sierra with the same console, I took the original out and custom made one out of wood to fit in its place, using the original mounting spot. I'll dig up some pics here shortly. I would take out the console and find a solution to replace it. Or find away to mount stuff inside the console

    I'm liking this idea.

If anyone here has done this, could you let me know which console you had luck with? Thanks.
