    Can a Cobra 29 power a 100W Speaker?

    i was curious if a cobra 29 can power a 100W Speaker because in security you are not allowed sirens in oklahoma. whelen makes a air horn/pa but can i do it with a cobra 29???

    It would for a little while. Those amp in the radios are only 5-10 watts output, and could blow your radios output amp. RadioShack sells the speakers to mount behind the grill/under hood for that radio as well as eBay and other radio oriented sited like Copper Electronics, Inc..

    i would say NO.

    siren speaker is 8 ohms right?


    the lil speaker that is supposed to go behind a cb is like 4 ohms. if it did work youd be better off yelling out the window.

    Hahaha! Absolutely correct.

    The speaker would be way underpowered and like the others said, would be the ultimate death of your radio.

    Most siren speakers are 11 Ohms.

    Yes, that is true and I stand corrected, as well. I had just meant that he'd be better off yelling out the window trying to power a 100w speaker like that.
