Anyone know the last day to order the 2013 SSV Tahoe? I heard the middle to end of march, but need a better answer and our dealer has no clue.

Are they not making them anymore? Changing designs?
No... like the OP asked, that's just the 2013 order cutoff date for SSVs.
The Tahoe/Suburban will be updated for 2014, if the interior matches the Silverado pickup it will be sharp.
yeah, totally new design... they have released the silverado, but not the tahoe/suburban/yukon/escalade designs yet. Apparently GM is trying to get away from them all sharing the same exterior and interior parts... The underpinnings (chassis, engine, etc) will be the same.
Since this question has been answered let me ask a related: The CA state contract has the 5.3L Tahoe on it. But I think it's just the civilian version (maybe the Fleet?). The contract allows agencies to purchase any factory option, but we cannot change the engine size or order models not on the contract. In some places I see the SSV listed as a "package" while others call it a "model". The SSV and PPV are not listed anywhere (since CHP is purchasing the Interceptor Utility).
I'm not even 100% sure what the difference is, but my gut tells me that we would probably want the SSV version if we can get it. Is it actually a completely different model? Or just a factory option? Anyone order a 2013 Tahoe here in CA?
The PPV is pursuit rated, with specific tires, wheels, and suspension. It is also expressed by Chevrolet not to tow with the PPV. The SSV is not pursuit rated, and can tow. Both have some extras like charging systems, spot lights options, HLF/TLF options, less interior features, ect.

I have a few customers that are plant workers. They tell me that tooling for 2014 is already underway. The Arlington plant will also stamp it's own sheet metal for 2014 full size SUVs.
If you would spend the time to read here, all your questions would be answered.
Police Vehicles | Full Line | GM Fleet
PPV = Police Pursuit Vehicle.
SSV = Special Service Vehicle (All are 4X4 and NOT rated for pursuit).
The only engine option is the 5.3L.
The SSV and PPV is an option package, not a model.
All PPV & SSV have no emblems, if it says TAHOE it is a base fleet model.
If it has a roof rack, it is a base fleet model.
If you need a 4 wheel drive SUV, order the SSV, if not get the PPV.
Yup, the new stamping machine should be here Friday. This is huge for the city of Arlington as GM is dedicated to making the full size SUV there for a long time.

I appreciate that. I did spend a bunch of time there. I was clear on the difference between the PPV and SSV, just not between the civilian and SSV. I should have been more clear.
If you go the page you linked it shows the SSV/PPV with "Model Overview" links - that's the kind of stuff that caused my confusion. If you go the Tahoe Fleet page it doesn't show the SSV/PPV stuff anywhere. You have to go to the Police stuff to see them.
I'm clear now. Thanks for the info guys.
For all intents and purposes the SSV is the retail LS trim level with police options and an identifying character in it's VIN, but like the PPV they're built separately from the retail production line. By that I mean there are scheduled windows in production when they suspend building retail trucks and build the police trucks, then depending on the time of model year retail production resumes or idles until the next model year production commences.
ill take your word for it. i dont drive things with bow ties......

The front grill area is UG LEE!
The AM/FM/Sirius antenna gives it away. And I'm assuming/hoping the Police Tahoes will have argent grill surrounds, not bright chrome
Jesus. Not more of those useless leds in the headlight housing.....
