    Lithium Ion batteries for HT1000?

I'm looking for Lithium batteiries for the HT1000 the old Nickel-cadmium batteries aren't holding a charger for more than a few hours. I figured lithium would last longer and i can recharge them whenever vs. having to drain them all the way like the Nc's. Anyone know where to get them, or higher capacity batteries? I think the oem one's are 2000mAh.

    NEW Battery for MOTOROLA HT1000 MTS2000 GP1200 MTX9000 NTN7143 LI-ION | eBay

17.99 each but, they include this warning:

    Warning:
This battery can be charged using your current/existing charger as long as it can support Lithium-ion chemistry battery. Please refer to your owner's manual to make sure that your current/existing charger will be able to charge Lithium-ion chemistry battery. The Lithium-ion battery charger with Ni-MH battery charger electricity is different, do not use the Ni-MH battery charger on the battery, lest cause damage to the battery, and even explosion. For more the charger can enter our shop to find related products ,we have all the Two-Way Radio related accessories, and to provide you with comprehensive services.

NOTE: Unfortunately, this is the only Ebay listing for Li-Ion's for the HT1000, and the vendor is in Hong Kong.

I just upgraded to li-ion for my portable, and had to buy a different charger to go with it. The chargers for Ni-Cad's and Ni-Mh's generally can not be used with Li-Ion batteries. Luckily, it is a much newer Motorola CP200 radio so I found real Motorola batteries and chargers right here in the US.

An annoyance online since original BBS days- early 90's. Damn I miss modem tones... but not 14.4 kbit/s.

You know what the chain of command is? It's the chain I'm going to get and beat you with until you understand who's in command here.... (best quote ever!)

Look on Ebay for any used HT1000 Impres chargers and get an Impres battery. 1 of those will last as long as the 5 chinese junky cell batteries you can buy on Ebay from Hong Kong every 6 months or so.
The standard HT1000 charger is bi-chem and not tri-chem so its designed for NiCD and NiMH chemistries only.If sticking with NiMH ,Power Products has a 2700mah hicap battery, which I believe is actually made by Multiplier for Power Products.
Impres Charger is a WPLN4111 and battery is HNN9028
Just a suggestion as I have used both items without needing to buy a new battery since 2003 and I use it alot at the shop and on the road.

Yes, I work for the radio shop.
No, I will not program your radio.
No, I will not program your scanner.
No, I won't tell you how the system works.

    Now what was your question?

If you're gonna kick the tires please don't pee on my grill.Either follow through or let me know that: you blew your paycheck on beers, your ol' lady took it all, you really don't want the item, you got laid off.
