    Question about radio

Would I be able to pick up my fire stations frequency with the RadioShack PRO-164 1000-Channel Handheld Scanner
    (RadioShack® PRO-164 1000-Channel Handheld Scanner - RadioShack.com)

I read something about it needed to be trunkable or non-trunkable, not sure which I would need??

    Thanks

From what I can see, the only agencies operating on trunked systems in your area are the Allegheny County Govt (but they are on the Open Sky net), the county jail the City of Pittsburgh. If you aren't interested in listening to any of these, a conventional scanner would be fine for your needs.

Should be able to hear 472.71250 just fine on a Pro-404. But probably not something like 472.70625 (I didn't know that even existed yet). You could probably get buy hearing it on 472.7062 though. Are there actual ultra-narrowband frequencies being used (xxx.xx625), or are they all xxx.x125 or xxx.x25 ? If there's only zero's after the 4th decimal spot, they don't mean anything. http://www.scannermaster.com/Narrowband_Police_Scanners_s/
