The lights on the Sheriff's '78 LTD II in "First Blood" were Yankee Model 354's, not Whelen 994's. The crossbar was a Yankee product as well. In some scenes you can actually see the "Yankee" emblem.

    Yankee Catalog... back cover?

Does anyone have the back cover of the Yankee catalog? I'm referring to the edition featured in eLighbars' literature album on Photobucket. I once had that exact same catalog and I remember a cartoonish character (Michelin man-like) whose head was actually a red beacon.

I apologize if this isn't the right section to post this but since this is where I found the pic:

How rare and how much would the bottom light "ROCKEY-RAY" would be worth, in decent shape with a clear dome? Was this model also available as a rotating beacon or only as a 4 way flasher, and if so, how much are these worth in either cases?
I'm asking because I might be able to pick one.

I'm surprised that no one's responded to this yet. I know I'm not crazy regarding this memory... but I can't be absolutely certain until someone affirms my description.

Combing through my files, I ran across this wiring and installation sheet for the venerable 8038 lightbar.

Tim: Thanks for the '49 Federal catalog. Super-nice. I noticed a couple of variations that I'd never seen before, and how they listed the underhood sirens separately. Wish the prices were still the same!

Awesome, Tim! The only thing missing is the SC8B, which wasn't available then! It's a wonder that most of those parts haven't changed, except where certains ones have been discontinued by their manufacturers and then replaced. Too bad you can't get those parts for Kevin for the same price today!

    North American siren manual?

Would anyone happen to have a manual w/schematic for a North American S75M electronic siren? A friend of mine got a couple of these old sirens off ebay and they have severe internal problems. He called North American and they won't let anyone have copies of their manuals or schematics. They're afraid of someone trying to duplicate the electronics. Thanks.

    Dominion Automotive pages

Here are a few pictures of my Dominion Auto catalog from 1995. Note that they offered a few Code 3 lightbars in there too.

Wish I could've saved a lot of the old Federal, Whelen, B&M and other catalogs I had over the years. I had kept a bunch, but lost all of them when a violent wind storm removed the roof of my mobile home in 2007.

I have this in one of the rooms of my house. I pieced together two different sections of a single add on Photoshop to fill out the dimensions of the frame. The vintage ads are really growing on me... both light ads and the advertisements for police & fire vehicles.

Nice, Jenny. We bought one of these same setups back in the early '80s. It went on a '66 Ford station wagon ambulance that we had bought from a small community. All it had on it when we got it was a small Federal WL siren. We replaced the WL with a Q, and mounted the Mars bar right behind the Q, adding a pair of DoRay lollipops between the two beacons. What I liked about this setup was the ability to use the colored inserts; and we alternated red and blue inserts on the two beacons. Something interesting: at that time Radio Shack sold colored inserts the same size as the Mars inserts, and they fit the SW beacons.
