My Latest Acquisition: Code 3 SD with NOS Green dome/lenses
My latest acquisition is this Code 3 SD, now with a pair of rare NOS Green Domes/Lenses.
Both the lightbar and the lenses were purchased seperatly and combined to make this beautiful masterpiece. I will be polishing up the chrome on the bar to show shine,
the interior of the lightbar is almost NOS itself, very clean. Video of lightbar includes interior pics! Enjoy!
I am looking for a pair of lp6000 Green domes in NOS or close condition.
I love Winky Blinkies, especially MARS products!

Whoa, now there's something you don't see too often around here! That's a different SD bar for sure
. Haha, I like the choice of background music, too. Awesome

That Crown Vic is now a happy car
This is truly an unbelievable find. May I ask where you got these domes on this awesome bar?
About the LP6000 domes, they still offer them, although they are a bit pricey:

Awesome!

Sunny Arizona723 PostsYup Yup, thank you! Yeah i though the music was fitting.
Thank you, The Crown Vic is a 91 with the 5.8L V8
The Crown Vic is a happy car because it has a good home now, The lightbar will not be remaining on the car, was only placed on the car for the video. The lightbar will remain indoors out of the weather, for the rest of its life! This is truly a very unbelievable find, it took me two years of searching and placing want ads for them. I was contacted on one of my want ads for green SD domes that I had on my fathers account. I couldnt believe it, when I recieved the pictures. There was no question I was buying them. Thank you for the info on the LP domes, That is a bit pricey for LP domes. But I have a last resort if all else fails.
Thank you, and no you don't see them often. I am very happy and proud of it! Its beautiful!
The Lenses ARE NOS ,they have some very light scratches on the tops from shelf life, maybe? They will buff out easily.
Lol... you better get in line then, and bring it on!
I love Winky Blinkies, especially MARS products!

Absolutely beautiful, those domes are amazing! I have an SD and a pair of USED green lenses I plan on restoring in the future. I already had the speaker grille mirror polished and that will make all the difference!
Your bar is an inspiration to get my restoration under way!!...because the voices in my head TOLD me to!

I'm not well versed enough with those lightbars. How similar are the Code3 domes to TwinSonic domes?
-
April 28th, 2012, 06:48 AM #20
they are the same in practice, with the difference that, on the lenses SD, the two ends are concave, with two lips to the base of the lens, while the lenses Twinsonic, have a flat section, and without lip at the base, on the inner side (side of the speaker), while the outside is the same as the lens SD.

Jenny,
Thanks for sharing that I have only seen one like that before the ambulance Captain had one on his truck. Many moons ago. Can you take a still photo of this light front on as well a side intersection shot. I will keep my eyes out for green lp lenses. I have a set of blue that you could put yellow filters in. Let me know.

Sunny Arizona723 PostsThank you, The domes are amazing but nothing beats new domes. Its great to know there is another green SD out there, its even better knowing its in your hands! I agree the polished grill will make all the difference. Do you have any pictures of the lightbar? I would love to see it, even in its current un restored condition. This wouldnt happen to be the green SD that was atop a white Jeep cherokee on craigslist, back in Nov-Dec 2010 would it? I love your Museum by the way! I hope to have a display just like that someday. Your welcome for the inspiration!
Todd, Your welcome!
I will get the Pictures for you as soon as I can. Since I dont have a full display room, I carefully package most of my lightbars and put them in storage. Thank you for helping me in my search for green Lp domes.
This is not a Federal Twinsonic lightbar, even though it closely resembles one. It is Code 3 PSE SD lightbar!I love Winky Blinkies, especially MARS products!
