Nice! Very nice. I'd like to have one with the red lens. Whelen also had a self-contained strobe in the same housing. They came out pre-1990. I saw the strobe version on a fire marshal's unit here in 1988.

The only reference to these I could ever find was from austin electronics catalogs. Mine is red... Was there paperwork? I see the box was dealer modified. Nice find.

Here is is on one of the few austin bulleitins to show blue....

I've got a single strobe version, with red and blue lens, rolling around in my desk drawer.

I had a dual light CA version, steady burn red with strobe blue. Sold it to a guy in Japan about 2 years ago.

There is a CA State Parks Ford Expedition still in service at the state beach where i go bike riding at , that has a MX7000 on top and on the rear has 2 of these lights. 1 is a dual light head, and one is a single light head. set up light old school CHP, Ill try and take a pic, but haven't seen them in action but i guess they are halogen version.

We have a Cal version Dash-Master II, with paperwork. Red halogen steady burn, and clear strobe. Amazing light!

Until seeing these pages, Dan, I had totally forgotten that we had a pair of the dual-DashMaster strobes years ago: one one the dash of each of our two ambulances at the time. Those were the first strobes we ever used and we were very satisfied with them.

I also had one of the first Generation I LED mirror mount lights that I used on my '97 Crown Vic. I still have the light somewhere. Hard to believe it's 10 years old! It did its job for that day and time and I really liked it; but the new generation LEDs are awesome!

Presumably the Code3 version of this was the deckblaster which also came in halogen/strobe. I actually prefer the halogen versions despite the amp draw. Code3 also did something like a deckblaster shroud which had color filters built into the shroud and hence you could take the actual unit out of the shroud, and a steady burn switch so be used as a flashlight. I love the ingenuity of designers .

    Dan...Dan....Dan....

You are aware that geometry plays in this.... your entire collection consists of Beacons, which provide warning signal to 360 degrees... this little trinket only provides directional warning, so..... you should just let it come home to daddy... er... "The Lab". I have a NOS Single Dashmaster, DashmasterII for it to be at home with!

    Very nice indeed!

Ditto, David. Wondered where you've been. I wish I still had my two Dashmasters. Both of them were stolen about 15 yrs. ago. I know who did it, and fortunately he's a guest of the state now, but that doesn't get them back. I think I know he who he "fenced" them to, but finding them this far down the road would be next to impossible. BTW, speaking of dash strobes. I have a very nice blue Federal single-faced Viper that is FS/FT. Welcome back, David.
