A unique beacon if I may say so myself

Around 7-10 years ago I picked up this unusual large pancake style beacon. It is approx 14" in diameter, octagon in shape, and has 2 halogen rotators. They rotate at a standard speed, and the mirrors between them seem to isolate the rotators. There are no markings on this light anywhere. Anyone have information on it ?

Man, what a weird bar! It looks like it is specifically designed to block light to either side for about 20 degrees or so. Strange.

Yes but why would you want that?

Someone posted this like 3 boards ago... they bought it on ebay and added some strobes in the empty spots the mirrors make.

It reminds me of the (Able 2...?) Stealth bar. I wonder if the sharp angles in the rotator filters create a unique flash effect as opposed to round ones.

This looks like the 5-0 lights that were seen in some of the Galls catalogs a few years back. The few that I've seen were all red, though.

With that octagon shape, it looks like it came from the Dharma Initiative on LOST...

    That's GREAT, FedSigFan!!

It looks to me like someone started with a stop sign and just worked their way up from there. Great potential for 360 lighting, except for the bizarre mirror configuration and placement. Puzzling.
