Who Loves High Skirts ? !

I have been looking for one of these for years and could never find one. I remember the shorter versions that NYPD used (in conjuction with the pulsator siren), but had only seen the much taller skirts in a handful of photos. As it turned out, during a conversation, a buddy of mine happened to have one stored away he was willing to part with. He even had the original base gasket. By the way, (out of curiousity), I had to measure it. The entire light measures over 16 inches from the bottom to the top of the dome. Time to get a larger garage door. . . .

Its weird, no tag and no holes for the tag. The light is as it came off the truck, it never had a tag on it.

LOL, the pictures do not do the height issue justice. It towers over a standard beacon ray. When I measured it last night, I sat there laughing and saying "are you kidding me"? I am going to need an extension pole for the swiffer.

I like the 175 'hill light' with a tall base (the regular 175, not the NYPD version).
    The siren fanatic.

Do you think whoever designed that high skirt was trying to compensate for something???

Where was it designed to be mounted?? In a hole??
