Not sure if this is the right place; if not, mods, please move...
I'm looking for recommendations on tactical vests. Not looking to break the bank (less than$ 200], as it wouldn't be used too often (emergency call-outs only where I'd be in plainclothes or department polo).
Going for simplicity (I don't think I need the ultimate Batman edition); preferably removable pouches and identification markings. Not worried about having an armored one, as I would wear my regular vest underneath my clothing.
Any info is appreciated, as always.

We have a couple of options from 5.11. Both are tactical vests and very much below the price point you had mentioned!

5.11 makes good stuff.
Although you say that you wear armor already, if you don't have plates I would sincerely look at a simple plate carrier with MOLLE. After all, if you're breaking out a tac vest you might as well "turtle up" with the armor IMHO.
Original S.O.E. Gear is another good place to look. They have a couple setups specifically designed as grab-and-go for LE (or anyone else who needs a small gearset) Their stuff is pricy, but it's also tougher than pretty much anything on the market. The nice thing is that you could double-run their Cop Rig and have 12x 12g as well as 3 30 round mags and a medical kit... and it wouldn't be hard to toss on a pile of flexcuffs etc.

I guess my first question would be load bearing or tactical (with ballistic protection). I have both. I have a bail-out Voodoo LBV what holds 6 AR mags, 4 pistol, first aid, etc. Below.

I also have a ballistic vest made by Safariland (I have a spare IIIA insert and two Armadillo steel panels) that I use when in civilian clothes or not in uniform: This affords me taser, mag's (both), radio, etc. Good luck.

N. Michigan566 PostsThanks for the info, folks. I think the 5.11 Tactical/Concealment flavor may have won me over.
